On your article about refilling shave cleaning cartridge. I have a Braun and found the best non flammable product to use as a refill is Barbicide concentrate. It does have an odor that reminds me of my childhood haircuts :-) It is an EPA approved hospital disinfectant which even kills HIV! :-)
However, you choose your “social milieu”, and how you run your life. It is your choice to have a car. You can choose to live your life without a car.
War for oil is only for the consumers of oil. If people did not consume oil products, and especially demand them for low prices, there would be no wars for oil. As an oil products consumer, and a heavy one, you are directly supporting the wars.
(Even though I have reduced my oil products usage, technically I still support the wars, but am working to change that. At least I am happy not having a car and other things that has very much greatly reduced the amount of my support for oil wars.)
Your statements about paying taxes are true. But in a broader sense it is more about participating in a warring economy and not making huge and drastic efforts to change that to a peaceful economy. (It will take too much text to explain this here.)
None-the-less, you have effectively answered my question. You do not consider all war wrong (as I do), you only consider wars that you do not accept and support as wrong.
I hope one day you will turn against all wars, and for the environment, and give up cars and do (and stop doing) so many other things that you can in that direction.
Thank you for your response.
I will be checking out your atheist stuff later, so you’ll probably hear from me again.
Thanks again.
In my social milieu, having a car is not purely unnecessary.
Nor is it true that I am directly supporting any war for oil. I do support wars in one way: by paying taxes. But if I don’t pay taxes they will put me in jail. So I pay taxes.
I googled about war is wrong, and found your site. You seem to state war is wrong, yet here I see a picture of you and your car. Cars of course are purely unnecessary luxuries. Even if your car did not burn an oil based fuel, you are still supporting that system. I am guessing you burn an oil based fuel however.
Can you please explain how you can unnecessarily, intentionally and directly support the war(s) for oil, and yet have a page that indicates war is wrong?
(I swore off cars a long time ago for anti-war and pro-environmental reasons.)
Thanks.
Thanks, Ken! Last one of yours I read was Cosmonaut Keep. I better get caught up!
‘Nobody with a good car needs to be justified.’
I’m half way through your online book and enjoying it immensely.
