It came to me when I tried to understand your so-called “religious beliefs” and I realized that they’re not actually beliefs. A belief is an idea about the natural world, but a religious belief is not. Religious beliefs are not ideas but memes: meaningless bundles of words, that move from mind to mind and multiply and multiply until every mind is consumed and the only way to avoid them is to move to Canada. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Religious “beliefs” are not ideas, they are a disease. Ideas are the cure.
