Well, rules of thumb are fine, but they’re a bit simplistic, as you’re surely aware. The link in your post points to female genitalia, cutting of, which I believe actually IS wrong. But then, there are many things that are not wrong that make people scream in pain. Male circumcision, for example; various medical procedures too numerous and baleful to mention; or, torturing a bad guy to find out where his murderous partner may be headed with a victim. Or, talking like a liberal (well, talking like a liberal would be _factually_ wrong, but not _morally_ wrong, which is my point… even if (a) actually _being_ a liberal is morally wrong, and (b) hearing it does make us conservatives scream in pain).
